A man, actually wrote on the Buffalo NY newspaper website, an article, about how women should be more discreet while breastfeeding in public. He actually said in the article: "I know it is a natural act. But so is urinating. But, I was online searching around per usual and came across some stuff about love compatibility and couples and divorce and all that, and then searched for e-books on that sort of thing and found his "collection" of love books. So for many millions today is payday, so I just wanted to share with you some information I found awhile back on wikipedia (you will learn I love that site). Saving your money, or paying yourself is very important to do for unforeseen emergencies (like when the furnace goes, or your car poos the bed). But I myself always had a problem actually knowing what I was suppose to save, and more importantly (actually not important at all) how much I can spend. I love new things!

Getting Organized

Being organized can save time, money, and let's face it insanity. But getting organized, well, that's a different story. So as I have recently gone through my own search of how to get organized, I wanted to share what has helped me the most.

1. Have a schedule, especially if you have kids, experts say they thrive on schedules, but they are good for you too. Knowing when you have a break coming up, knowing what you need to do and when, very helpful. There are a lot of ways to schedule your time too. I tried blocks of time, like the morning, afternoon, and night. I did a weekly schedule, picking a different day of the week to do different things, such as run errands on Thursdays, date night on Friday, Bills on Mondays. The one I did was probably more work, but my husband and I take a few minutes a day to chat about the next day's schedule, so far it has worked for us.

2. Take the time to put things away when you are done with them. It can be a pain, but it's much worse if you leave big messes all over the place, and if you are the homemaker in the family you will be picking up after everyone else too, so the more you stay on top of things the better.

3. There are several books out there that have information on being organized. One particular set of books that I like are the Get Organized Now set, each one is an e-book and has tips and tricks, and ideas for the home, the office, your desk, and a few other places. Homeschooling Preschoolers for Starters

Yesterday a friend stopped by and got me all excited about homeschooling again. We were talking about different ways of homeschooling, and then I realized I haven't posted much about homeschooling on the blog. We talked about Unschooling- the new way to not teach. There is supposedly no syllabus, and no particular direction in which to teach your kids. You go with their interests, and follow where the interests leads. An example would be for kids who are interested in cats, so you take them to the humane society. From there they want to know more about kittens, where they come from maybe, so you take them to the vet to ask questions. Then at the vets the kid learns you can only keep so many animals, so you go to the city court to see the laws behind having pets. Another way is through notebooking, which I do not know much about, except you write down everything that pertains to the subject in one notebook. A nice one we discussed was unit teaching, which is done with up to a few kids of different ages, and based on what the kids are suppose to learn you teach subjects like Egypt, the history, the culture, the geography, science of the area, and more. I really like the idea of going by a specific syllabus for each child, that would involve christianity, morals, principles, math, science, social studies, cooking, and whatever else I can come up with. Not all at once but over time. I am not sure if I will ever come up with such a curriculum, but I am looking. Since Christmas my favorite online store is The Container Store. This site is a bit difficult to navigate I think, but has so many products that help you organize. It shows you different offices, child's rooms, bedrooms and closets setup and you can scan over the products and see what they are and the price. A great site I found is I am Pregnant.com. Pregnancy is such a such an amazing part of life. Anyways this site is all about pregnancy from trying to delivery I believe the site says. However there is a naked model on the front page of the site for symptoms of pregnancy. That is the warning I wanted to give. But it can show you what is going on with the baby during each week of your pregnancy, and help you through the ups and downs of the pain and excitement. Here is the link. So to go with the pregnancy theme, the tips I would like to share today are about pregnancy. I have done a lot of research since my last pregnancy on being a doula, so in learning so much more about being pregnant, I have some tips to offer that I will follow the next time around. 1. I would definitely get a doula- somewhat like a midwife, helps you through pregnancy, labor, delivery, and bringing the baby home and adjusting within the family. 2. Massage Therapy or seeing a Chiropractor, or bonus, Both. I went to a Chiropractor at the end of my last pregnancy and just one adjustment made a huge difference. Check with your doctor or doula before going to either though. 3. Healthy Diet, from all the reading I have done, having a healthy diet, like fruits and vegetables is suppose to help morning sickness, or as though of us who have been pregnant might say, first trimester sickness. 4. Exercise. Pilates for pregnancy seems to me like such a great exercise. I love pilates, and though I don't do it enough, I know just a little of the exercise can make a difference within a couple of days, and is so relaxing. Also I have heard that walking is great for pregnancy, because you can do it all the way through. 5. Never turn down help. All trimesters of pregnancy have their down times, like aching backs, nausea, tiredness, and many more. So when someone offers help, take it, the rest would be well worth it, and the person helping would feel good that they helped you, so you both win. This is a great group that I am involved in, in my area, and it is spread out all over the world. If you are like me you may have spent a tad too much on christmas this year. Well I have a few ideas on how to maybe save some money on the 2007 holiday season. Maybe stretching it out from now till then won't make it seem so stressful and tiring. Tip 1: Start now, make a list of everyone you know you have to buy for next year, and write what they like next to their names. 2: While shopping this year at all the sales you will visit, always have your list with you, and when you do buy something make sure to add it to your list so you always know what is and what is not still needed. 3:Make your own gifts. This year for christmas I received gifts in a jar, they were awesome! I love getting things like scrapbooks, quilts, blankets, and homemade organizing things. 4: Do things for people instead of giving them something. An example would be say I do not like to clean house, for a present you could come over and clean for an hour once a week for a month or something like that. You could do cooking, sewing, cleaning, car work, taxes, almost anything. 5: Photograph gifts are very nice. You can take a nice picture of someone or something and frame it up really nice for a gift. If you have ever seen the Family Stone (movie) someone gives everyone in the family a picture of the mother pregnant in black and white all framed up for christmas. Mops Mothers of Preschoolers

This post is specifically for mothers of kids ages 0-5 years old. There is an organization called MOPS (moms of preschoolers) and it is international. They have periodic meetings, where often there is childcare so that moms can spend some time together going over topics relative to moms. Unfortunately the meetings are held during the week, but contact your local mops group to see if you can get a meeting together for moms who may have full time jobs. I have been a part of mops for almost 2 years and love it, it gives you the opportunity to find other kids your kids ages and set up play dates, plus you can meet moms just like you, and make new friends with common interests, such as your children. Free Faxing from Home

I found a great site that lets you fax for free. It is called faxzero. All you have to do is scan your paper that needs to be faxed into your computer and then save it as a .doc or a .pdf file to fax it. Of course you could use your own computer if you want to set it up with the phone line and all of that, but this is just another option. For the pdf file, you would print to a pdf file by downloading a pdf converter for free. Here is a link. But I think it would just be easier to scan to microsoft word and save as a .doc Hope this is helpful. I know it is a lot easier for me to just scan and use this site than to go through the whole shebang with the fax facilities on my computer that come preinstalled.

Paypal is now offering free equifax monitoring for 12 months, so if something (atleast from my understanding)happens with your credit you will get an email about it. With identity theft and how important our credit is, this is a nice tool to use to make sure all is well with your credit. So go search on paypal to find the offer for your account. As long as you dont enter payment information you will not be charged after 12 months. Free Annual Credit Reports- the government said we have to be able to get a free report every year, so each of the three credit bureaus are on this site. I check one of them every 4 months and buy the score to go with it, the scores is about $6. This is just another way to monitor your credit and stay on top of your score. Very helpful if you plan on making large purchases in the near future.

The one thing about being a homemaker is there is only one income, which means you have to make the most of it. Over the past few years I have learned a few things about shopping, groceries, bills, saving money, and being as frugal as possible. When it comes to shopping I do a lot of it online, because there are great sites, like bizrate that will find and compare prices for the merchandise you are wanting to buy. I also search the internet for coupon codes (keycode is great for this- however not the only one). Another tip for shopping online is if you know you can deal with it being used, ebay, yahoo auction, live deal and ioffer are great places to check for the item. I try to find the cheapest price possible. I like to make my dollars stretch as far as I can, because that is more I have to spend elsewhere, imagine that a homemaker with a shopping problem, lol! Anyways for the groceries, I shop at BJ's for toilet paper and things like that, things that will last a long time, and I only have to do it a couple of times a year. But a great site I ran across once is called the grocery game. The author of the site tells you exactly how to use your coupons from the Sunday paper, when to save them for later, and how to make the most of rebates also. It is very informative and helpful if available in your area. For frugality, I have found an awesome site for information on keeping and saving your money. It is called allthingsfrugal. There are many other sites about saving money, but this one is one of my favorites so far. Another though is thefrugallife. Marriage and Relationships

I have only been married for 1.5 years. But it is to a great man. However no matter how great a person is, marriage can be hard, have bad times, and not always be great. There are a couple of books I have read on marriage that teach you how to best get through your "down times". The one I like the most is The Five Love Languages. Basically it just teaches you how to show your spouse love the way they would like to be loved. The other book that I like is Lies at the Altar. This one is by a friend of Oprah's and is actually for people before they get married, it lists many questions couples should ask each other, before getting married. I probably like this one so much because my husband doesn't talk much and this helps us have more conversations. Other than books I have come across some pretty good sites, like Your Romance Guide which has information about many loving relationships. And Loving You is another. If anything at all we can forward these to our husbands, those of us who have those husbands with no ideas about romance. Lol! I just thought I would add that the author of the five love languages, also has a site called Marriage Vine, you can sign up for emails to get to learn how to make the most of your marriage. I got them for months, and saved all of them, so many are just very practical helpful advice.

Freecycle is a great idea that when you want to get rid of something you just post it online and someone in your area may want it and will come pick it up. And you can also ask for things online from others in your area and ask for the other free things posted. Everything on this site is free, you can not ask for money for the things you post. Just go to Freecycle and search for your area. Other things you can do to save money, or get things free is to join Yahoo or Msn groups for your area. There are either classified groups, or community groups, where you can find out about other things in your area. One co-op that is in many areas is the angel food network. And I guess you can say I have forgotten about that some, but I am going to make it better this week, while my husband is on vacation. 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a crumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, Remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its Ph is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Over and above these items, you can take peroxide, put it on a clean

white cloth, rub it on any stain on any carpet and it will take the

stain out of the carpet but not the color.

Peroxide:

"I would like to tell you of the benefits of that plain little old

bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. My

husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most

doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of

dollars."

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and

hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it

when I bathe )

No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive

pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash. (small print says mouth wash and

gargle right on the bottle)

2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of "Peroxide" to keep them free

of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave

a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or

spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to

kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5. I had fungus on my feet for years - until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture

of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let

dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes

several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal

with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide an d water and

keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic

system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture

whenever you have a cold, or plugged sinuses. It will bubble and help to

kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into a

tissue.

9. If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right

away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten

minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the

50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You

will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages,

but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, faddish, or

dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change.

11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils,

fungus, or other skin infections.

12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of

whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing,

Pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it

and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors with, and there is no smearing

which is why I love it so much for this.

Buying School Books

While surfing online today I came across a few tips to throw out there. First tip was on saving money. I go to school at a local college and it is time to buy books. The easy way for me to do this is to just use the schools bookstore. But I wanted to spend as little as possible, so here is what I did. I went to www.textbookx.com with the list of books I needed and the authors, editions, etc. I searched for them on textbookx and took the ISBN number from their site to the site www.bigwords.com There I entered the numbers and when I was done it totaled up all the stores I would have to use to get my books the cheapest. My total was 150 for 3 books. Down from 280+ at the school book store. But I still needed another book only sold by the school and that was 70+ through the school so to make it even a little cheaper I searched the schools boards for the books, and found one for $20. So with all of that sounding pretty good for books so far, I am waiting to purchase two to see if I can use older copies which is sometimes allowed, and therefore I will not have to purchase them at all because I have them free. I am also going to check with my local www.yahoo.com groups and freecycles to see if anyone has any of the books I need.

So my savings are looking to be pretty great, from close to $400 down to less than $200. Hope this helps someone who is getting ready for school.

I am in a Yahoo group for preschool homeschooling. I have a two year old son, and a 3 month old. My husband and I are going to try homeschooling out, because we think that it might be best for our kids. Ok, links for today: click n work do some writing, among other things more of your mail work http://www.hausernet.com/newpage6.htm Wow, what a day, I have been searching for awhile, and I have to say, what a bunch of crap I am finding. All of these people are coming up with sites, or have sites, that promote, wah. Hm... Some of these sites are incredibly junk, I dont mean to be mean but really. Most of the pages are covered with ads, that often do not promote work but opportunities. There are several opportunities out there, but almost all of them are asking for up front fees and quite frankly if we are parents looking for jobs from home, extra cash is not easy to come up with. What it takes to get a work from home job is TIME that is about it, time in experience, time as in waiting for a call back or email back saying they are interested. Time spent applying to companies that take months to get back to you, if they get back to you at all. Now I am not going to say that I dont want to make any money off my site. Hopefully someday I will finally add my shopping cheap page, that will be filled with affiliate links to online stores and offers. But I am going to promise right now, not to be like these other sites. I will not push these so called opportunities any more than I will the real work you can find online. I will have ads on my pages, but not so overwhelming that it is hard to concentrate on the content. I plan to put a lot of time into this and already have, but I want to help people. I want them to get work so they can be home with their little ones, so they will come back to my page for advice and to shop, so they can make money from home when they have no other options. Last but not least I just have to say a few tips about finding work as hard and time consuming it may be: If they ask for money run, other than liveops and like 2 other things I have found run, run, run....if in question check the bbb.org, if no info run. If they ask for information about your personal numbers, bank, accounts, etc, dont give it out. Check to see if they are with the bbb.org If it seems too easy, it probably is, money doesnt grow on trees no matter how much we want it to. If it was that easy to make money we would all be rich. Last but not least for now, Be CAREFUL, check around before devulging critical info, or spending money, take your time, because that is what it really takes to get work from home.
